They're doing something right!

I was walking to the grocery store tonight and it hit me...how often I see parents in China with their children and how remarkably different it is than what I'm used to seeing!

I know I haven't been here long, but it seems to me that they're doing something right! I keep noticing dad's with their child, mom's with their child, grandparents with their grandchild and every time I see this...they're interacting with them and seem to be truly enjoying them! Very seldom have I seen a parent on their cell phone, not once have I seen a child on their parent's cell phone!

I'm not saying that those things aren't happening...I'm sure they are here and there. But it is clear that the lives of these parents is wrapped up in their one and only child....and they are treasuring it! I'm a little in awe.
